Verified virtual assistant profiles checked as real people before they go live
When you hire someone remotely, you need to know the person in the profile is the person doing the work. On Aides, no assistant profile appears in search until that person has passed a government ID check and a liveness check. Profiles show the assistant's own photos, every assistant is an adult, and we do not allow AI personas, shared accounts or profiles run on someone else's behalf.
- Every assistant passes an ID and liveness check. No AI personas.
- You pay your assistant directly. No markup.
What every assistant goes through before going live
Verification happens once before the profile is published and again whenever key details change.
- 01 Government ID check, using a valid passport, national ID card or driver's license
- 02 Liveness check, a short live face capture that confirms a real person is present and matches the ID
- 03 Age check, only adults can hold an assistant profile
- 04 Photo match, profile photos must show the same person as the ID and the liveness capture
- 05 Name match, the name on the profile matches the verified identity
- 06 One person, one profile, no shared or resold accounts
Checks are carried out by our identity verification provider. Aides receives the result and the details needed to confirm the match, not a copy shown to buyers.
Only real people and no AI personas
Aides is a directory of human assistants. Profiles cannot use generated faces, avatars or photos of other people, and messages to buyers must be written by the assistant themselves. Assistants may use everyday software tools in their work, the same way any professional does, but the person you hire is always the verified person on the profile.
- No generated or edited profile faces
- No profiles operated by automated tools
- No agencies hiding several workers behind one profile
What you see as a buyer
Every profile in search carries a verified badge once checks are complete. You see the assistant's verified first name and last initial, their own photos, their skills and skills test results, their typical hourly rate, their country and the exact hours they overlap with your workday. You never see their ID document or personal identity data.
On the Business and Enterprise plans you also receive an identity verification report for each hire as a PDF, confirming that the person you hired passed the ID, liveness and age checks on a stated date. Compare plans on the virtual assistant cost page.
- Verified badge with the date of the last check
- Skills test results on the profile
- Overlap hours with your workday
- Identity verification report per hire on Business and Enterprise
Fair hiring by design
Verification exists to confirm identity, not to sort people. Aides does not offer search filters by gender, age, race, religion or nationality, and buyers cannot use the platform to exclude applicants on those grounds. You search by skill, availability, overlap hours and rate, which are the things that decide whether the work gets done.
What happens when something looks wrong
If a check fails, the profile does not go live. If something looks wrong after a profile is live, for example a photo that does not match a video call or a different person doing the work, use the report option on the profile or write to support@aides.io.
If you shared access with someone who turned out not to be who they said, remove that access first, then report it. Our security page explains how seats, roles and permissions help you limit what any one person can reach.
- We pause the profile while we review the report
- We ask the assistant to repeat the liveness check
- We remove the profile if the identity or photos do not match
- We keep a record so the same person cannot open a new profile
How assistants get verified
Assistants apply, choose the Aides Pro listing and complete verification from their phone or laptop in a few minutes. They photograph their ID, take a short live face capture and upload their own profile photos. Once the checks pass, the profile goes live in search and they can reply to buyers and apply to role posts. Read more on our virtual assistant positions page.
Questions about verification
Does verification mean you checked their work history?
No. Verification confirms identity, age and that the photos are real. Work quality is something you test yourself with skills test results on the profile and a short paid trial task, as explained in how to hire a VA.
Can I see the assistant's ID?
No. ID documents stay with our identity verification provider and Aides. You see the verified badge, and on Business and Enterprise plans an identity verification report for each hire.
How often are assistants re-checked?
We re-check when an assistant changes their name, photos or ID document, and we can request a new liveness check at any time after a report.
Are assistants in the United States?
Some are, and many are in other countries. Search shows the exact hours each assistant overlaps with your workday, so location matters less than coverage.
