  • Every assistant passes an ID and liveness check. No AI personas.
  • You pay your assistant directly. No markup.

Paying your assistant

Who pays the assistant?

You pay your assistant directly at the rate you agree together. Your Aides subscription pays only for search, messaging and hiring tools. We take no percentage from you or from the assistant.

How do I pay my assistant?

You choose the method together, usually a bank transfer or a payment service the assistant already uses. Agree the method, currency and invoice schedule in your work agreement before work starts.

Is there an agency markup?

No. The rate you agree is the rate your assistant receives. Assistants keep 100 percent of what you pay them.

What does a virtual assistant cost?

Most of the cost is the assistant's hourly rate times the hours you need. Typical rates and worked examples are on the virtual assistant cost page.

Contracts and taxes

Do I sign a contract with my assistant?

You agree scope, hours, rate and confidentiality with your assistant in writing. Growth, Business and Enterprise plans include work agreement templates you can edit.

Is my assistant an employee?

Assistants on Aides usually work as independent contractors and run their own business. Whether that fits your situation depends on the work and the rules where you operate, so check with your own advisor.

Who handles taxes?

Assistants handle their own taxes as independent contractors. Your own reporting duties depend on your location and how you pay, so ask your accountant.

Can my assistant sign an NDA?

Yes. Add a confidentiality clause to your work agreement or use your own NDA before you share sensitive access.

Hiring and trial tasks

How does a paid trial task work?

Before you hire, give a short real task, usually one to three hours, and pay for it at the agreed rate. You see the quality of the work and how your assistant communicates. See every step.

How fast can I hire?

Many buyers message assistants on the first day and run a trial within the same week. Timing depends on your role and how quickly you reply.

Will my assistant work during my hours?

Search shows how many of your working hours each assistant covers. Pick a profile with the overlap you need, or plan async handoffs for the rest. Read about time zone overlap.

What if the assistant does not work out?

End the engagement under your agreement, message another assistant and run a new trial. Your plan counts new conversations per month, so you keep searching without extra fees.

Can I hire more than one assistant?

Yes. Starter allows 1 active hire, Growth 3, Business 10 and Enterprise 50.

Verification and safety

Are the assistants real people?

Yes. Every assistant passes a government ID check and a liveness check before the profile goes live. Profile photos are the assistant's own, and AI personas are not allowed. Read how verification works.

Can anyone join as an assistant?

Only adults who pass verification and hold an Aides Pro listing appear in search.

How should I share passwords and access?

Share the smallest access the task needs, use a password manager with shared vaults where you can, and remove access when the engagement ends. More on the security page.

Your account and plan

Can I try Aides before I pay?

Yes, once. The search on the homepage shows example matches with real overlap and cost math before you create an account. Every plan after that is a paid subscription.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel in your account and your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Payments are final, as described in the refund policy.

Can I change my plan?

Yes. Moving to a higher plan or from monthly to yearly is charged right away and the new limits apply at once. Moving to a lower plan takes effect at the next renewal.

Does deleting a conversation free up my limit?

No. Limits count conversations started in the billing period. Your allowance resets with the next period.

How do I get help?
